How to use Compress Image (free, no upload)

  1. Drop one or more images (JPG, PNG, WebP or GIF).
  2. Set the quality. Lower numbers give smaller files.
  3. Optionally save as WebP for the smallest files, or cap the size for web use.
  4. Click Compress images, then download each file or all of them as a ZIP.

Frequently asked questions

How much smaller will my images get?

Photos usually shrink 40–80% at quality 75 with no difference you'd notice. Already-optimized images may not shrink, and in that case the original is kept.

What's the best format for small files?

WebP is typically 25–35% smaller than JPG at the same quality and works in all modern browsers and apps.

Does it remove photo metadata?

Yes. Re-saving drops EXIF data like GPS location. Use the Remove Metadata tool if you want to strip it without re-compressing.

Is it private?

Yes. Your images are processed in your browser and never uploaded.
